Everything Hey Neighbor does
It is group messaging that arrives as a text message. There is no app to download, your phone number is never shown to anyone you are texting with, and the person running the group is someone in it rather than staff.

Ask for your chat
Tell us which group you want — your street, your family, the bus, the carpool. Once someone agrees to run it, we open the chat and let you know — once.

Reply JOIN
Your moderator confirms you belong in the chat, then texts you an invitation. Reply JOIN and you're in — no app to download. Your phone number stays private: it is never shown to other members, to your moderator, or to advertisers.

Stay in the loop
Posts arrive as text messages, and you reply straight back into the chat. Prefer a screen? The same conversation is on the web. Reply MUTE to pause it or STOP to end it.

How it works for local businesses
Hey Neighbor is free for personal use, and a limited number of local sponsor notices is what pays for it. They look like a notice on the bulletin board, not like a message from someone in the group.
Clearly labeled, always
Every placement is marked "Sponsored by your business" and styled as a bulletin-board card — never disguised as a member's message.
Reviewed before it runs
An administrator reviews each offer before it appears in a group, so the feed stays useful and trusted.
Beside the conversation, not interrupting it
Your card sits in the group in the app, and your line closes the nightly roundup text. Never on a member's own post, never on an emergency alert, and never a message from you straight to a member.
Zero access to members
Advertisers never see names, phone numbers, or message content. Your report counts deliveries, clicks and redemptions — never who they were.
