Hey Neighbor SMS Terms & Conditions

Last updated August 21, 2026

Program name

Hey Neighbor โ€” private neighborhood communication for verified residents of Lakewood, NJ.

What we send

Hey Neighbor sends two kinds of text messages: (1) Account verification โ€” a one-time passcode when you sign in. (2) Neighborhood notifications โ€” optional summaries of activity in your neighborhood groups, which you turn on or off yourself in Settings.

How you opt in

You provide your mobile number when you create your account and confirm it by entering the one-time code we text you. Neighborhood notification texts are off unless you switch them on in Settings. You are never required to enable notification texts to use Hey Neighbor.

Message frequency

Verification codes are sent only when you request a sign-in. Neighborhood notification frequency depends on how active your groups are; expect up to 10 messages per month.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Hey Neighbor does not charge you for text messages.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any Hey Neighbor text message to opt out at any time. You will receive one confirmation message and then no further texts.
