Mobile phone numbers and text messages

When you create a Hey Neighbor account we collect your mobile phone number in order to verify your identity and, if you choose, to send you notifications about activity in your neighborhood groups. Your phone number is never displayed to other Hey Neighbor members.

We use your number only to operate Hey Neighbor: sending sign-in passcodes, sending notifications you have enabled, and processing your STOP, START, and HELP replies. We retain it while your account is active and delete it when you close your account.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text message originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party. We use Twilio as our messaging service provider solely to deliver these messages on our behalf.

More about texts

Our SMS Terms & Conditions describe what we send, how often, and how to stop. Our Terms of Service cover the rest of the service.
