Terms of Service
Hey Neighbor · Last updated October 5, 2026
Who we are
Hey Neighbor is operated by Abadi Judaica LLC. These terms are between you and Abadi Judaica LLC. By using Hey Neighbor you agree to them.
Not an emergency service
Hey Neighbor is not an emergency service and must never be relied on as one. In an emergency, call your local emergency number first.
Groups include an alert that a moderator can send to everyone at once. That is a convenience for members, not a dispatch system. We do not monitor messages in real time, we cannot guarantee that any message is delivered, read, or acted on, and delivery depends on mobile carriers we do not control.
Who can take part
You must be at least 18 years old, and you must actually belong to the group you join — the street you live on, your bus, or your carpool. Groups are invite-only: a moderator confirms you belong in the group before an invitation is sent. Accounts are personal and tied to a verified mobile number — do not share yours or sign in on someone else's behalf.
How you are expected to behave
Use Hey Neighbor for lawful group communication. Do not harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone, do not use the group for commercial solicitation, and do not post content that is unlawful or that you have no right to share.
Other members' information belongs to them. Do not copy a member list, republish someone's message outside the group, or use anything you learn here to contact a member who has not asked to be contacted.
Moderation
A moderator is someone in the group — not staff — who volunteers to look after it: they invite new people, keep posts on topic, and handle reports. Moderators can remove a message, remove a member, and pin announcements within their own group. Removed messages are hidden from the group and retained in our moderation record. A text that has already been delivered cannot be recalled.
We may suspend or remove an account used for harassment, commercial solicitation, impersonation, or repeated breaches of these terms. You can leave a group, or delete your account, at any time from Settings.
Sponsored content
Hey Neighbor is free for personal use and is supported by local sponsor notices. Every one is labeled as sponsored and reviewed before it runs. Sponsors never see your name, your phone number, or any message content — only counts. Sponsors cannot message you: every offer is sent by Hey Neighbor Offers from your group's own Hey Neighbor number, up to 8 a month, only between 9am and 8pm your local time, and never on a member's post or an emergency alert. Offers are part of the free group program. The neighbor who runs a group may pay to run it without sponsor notices for everyone; replying STOP ends all texts, offers included, and takes you out of every group. Muting a group pauses neighbors' posts, not offers.
Text messages
Text messaging is governed by our SMS Terms & Conditions, which describe what we send, how often, and how to stop. Your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
The service is provided as is
Hey Neighbor is an early-stage service offered without warranty of any kind. We do not promise that it will be available without interruption, that messages will be delivered, or that it will be free of errors. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Abadi Judaica LLC is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Hey Neighbor, or from a message that was delayed, undelivered, or never sent.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service develops. The date at the top of this page changes whenever the wording does. Continuing to use Hey Neighbor after a change means you accept the updated terms.
